You will receive an AKC registration form from me. After you decide on your puppy’s name, fill it in the box indicated. I will have filled out the rest of the form for you. Your signature(s) is required. Send the completed form, along with the appropriate fees to the AKC to register your dog and to formally establish ownership.
Provisions of Contract
Buyer understands that Puppy has been sold with a LIMITED / FULL AKC registration. Limited registration prevents the buyer/owner from registering any litters/puppies produced or sired by this puppy. This registration does / does not entitle Buyer to show in AKC sanctioned conformation shows and events. AKC obedience shows are not excluded.
Buyer agrees to take all measures necessary to see that puppy is not bred, and does not sire or deliver any litters if purchased on a limited registration.
Buyer agrees that Puppy will be spayed or neutered by 18 months of age if purchased on a limited registration.
Should Buyer and Seller mutually agree to upgrade to an AKC regular registration after the puppy is 18 months of age, then a stud service or puppy or monetary equivalent shall be delivered to the Seller. Any breeding consideration shall not take place until Puppy has reached the age of 2 years old.
Buyer agrees that should Puppy be shown, information on all awards, critiques, etc shall be forwarded to Seller along with photos if available, or the opportunity to purchase a photo, if available, for future advertising by Seller.
Buyer agrees not to begin strenuous exercise and physical training with Puppy until Puppy has reached a minimum age of 18 months. This is to prevent damage to Puppy during formative stages. Buyer acknowledges that failure to meet this requirement will void contract.
Buyer will not sell, give or otherwise transfer Puppy without first giving Seller right of first refusal. Under NO circumstances shall Puppy be taken to an animal shelter, humane society, or be released to a rescue group.
Any surgeries performed on Puppy, including ear cropping, resulting in death or incapacitating condition, is solely the responsibility of the Buyer and the Buyer alone.
Buyer agrees upon purchase that Puppy will be registered with a name starting with the Raven’s prefix (ex. Raven’s Cry Me A River or Raven’s Mercedes). This is to help identify puppies from my litters in future pedigrees.
Seller shall not be held responsible for acts of Puppy after Puppy leaves Seller’s premise.
Seller shall not be held responsible for the development of non-genetically derived faults, diseases, or disorders after Puppy leaves Seller.
Seller guarantees that Puppy is in good health and has received appropriate medical care, including inoculations and worming. Seller will provide Buyer with a medical chart/record detailing treatment Puppy has received under Seller’s care and future care that Seller feels is essential to Puppy’s well being.
Should Puppy be diagnosed with any genetic medical disorder prior to two years of age which is life threatening OR significantly reduces the quality of life of Puppy, having been attested to by 2 licensed veterinarians (from unassociated practices), Seller will, upon being provided with veterinary verification and documentation, provide Buyer with one of the following:
ü Should buyer choose to keep Puppy, a replacement pet puppy will be offered after proof of spay/neuter of original Puppy has been presented to Seller.
ü Should puppy be euthanized, Seller will provide a replacement puppy of same color and sex, or Buyer may choose to have Replacement puppy retained by Seller and sold, and purchase price of Original Puppy minus any shipping expenses forwarded to them. Buyer is responsible for ALL shipping charges both on original pup and any replacement puppy.
METHOD OF PAYMENT

Your Puppy Parenting Responsibilities
Your puppy deserves the opportunity to be the best family member he/she can be. All puppies should be obedience trained so they can be a canine companion that can go anywhere with you and fit into your lifestyle comfortably. This should be started immediately and should continue throughout the life of your dog. He/She will be the happiest if you are pleased with their behavior. Learn to communicate what you want in a positive and loving manner and your dog will respond.
It is your responsibility to ALWAYS provide adequate shelter, a soft bed, fresh water, high quality food, and plenty of love. Danes are sensitive and loving companion dogs. Your puppy will achieve his/her best potential under these circumstances.

In the event that circumstances arise that would prevent Buyer(s) from continuing to keep said Great Dane, Buyer will notify Seller, and right of first refusal will be given to Seller.
